The system of the key could be a working point,
The very friendly owner of the hostel, the beds are good, we slept very well, the location was okay, although the Semmelweis University looks scary at night :)
The male bathrooms was not clean( they should hire someone to do cleaning regurily)
They had no iron(the owener said 2 times it was stollen so he is not going to buy the 3rd one), but in Corvin shopping mall there is a place i gave my cloths to iron for 1.5 euro each.
Doors are quite noisy(they should lubricate them).
Location is great, Next to the main public transportations, a shopping mall (Corvin) and a cinema in the corner, Near to Radai street full with restaurants and bars.
Just infront of a beautiful art museum.
The owner was a great man and really helpful and willing to help.(his english is not so good but enough to communicate with)
They have a living room for peaple to listen to musics and sit together and watch a movie or football.
Free wifi and also computer room with high speed internet.
You get a locker to keep your important stuffs where there is a cctv camera infront of it(feeling more safe).
Full kitchen to cook with free tea and coffee.
A small shop next to the entrace of the building where you can buy many things late at night.
The access to hostel is a bit complicated with security codes. There is the code to enter the building, and then get to 2nd floor and you'd have to swipe a magnetic card to get in the hostel.
Staff is very nice and friendly, they helped me with everything. The bathroom is very clean, they have an Internet room with computers, and also a really comfortable living room to chill. The metro and bus station is just 5 minutes walking away, and there's a huge museum right opposite to the hostel. Very nice place, would visit again when I get to Budapest!
The reception closes at midnight. Nobody waited for me, even I stated that I'll arrive between 23 and 24, but was late with 15min. Nobody called me to ask me if I'm coming or not. Then they came but I had to wait over half an hour to check in.
Comfortable beds, good bathroom, clean. Value for money. Very good choice between the cheap hostels in Budapest.
The exchange rate applied between euro and the Hungarian forint (you can only pay cash in Forint) was very unfavorable and totally out of the market (344 forint per euro, when, on the same day I had taken cash from an ATM with change at 288 forint per euro)
The staff speaks little English. The rooms were small, with old furniture and no electrical outlets and lights for each bed (I had to charge the phone in the kitchen where, however, there were only three electrical outlets in all).
The cleaning was poor especially in the bathroom (one bathroom for the entire hostel), and the sheets on the bed did not seem clean.
In the kitchen it was allowed to smoke and the entire hotel was very noisy until late.
the wi fi worked badly and only a few hours during the day.
Good location, not in the center but very close to the underground station, three stops from the center.
Very low cost even if I had to pay cash in Forint at an unfavorable exchange rate.
Facilities are not so good (showers without a place to dress up privately). I stead there during weekend and it was not very clean because the lady only comes to clean it during the week. I booked 2 beds in a 4-bed room and there were 14 beds in our room...
The hostel's owner is a very kind man who makes you feel comfortable. There is a room with some computors. There are 2 living/dining rooms, one for smokers and one for non-smokers. The only problem was that the smokers one was together with the kitchen so you can't avoid the smoke if you want to. But the other living room is really big.
